From 2007, Lieux Fictifs takes part to several learning partnerships of the "Lifelong learning programme - Grundtvig" from the European commission. These partnerships involve European cultural operators developpinf projects in prison and outside.
In order to continue the dynamic engaged with two previous Grundtvig learning partnerships around the "Education and creation in prison" issue, Lieux Fictifs, is involved in a new learning partneship on 2014-2015, decidated to ""Culture in prison : an educational, training and employing device". The aim is to strengthen the good practices around "inside-outside" paths for prisoners inside the cultural field.
This partnership gathers the two historical partners of Lieux Fictifs, TransFORMAS (Barcelona) and the Coopérativa sociale e.s.t.i.a. (Milan), as well as the Coopérativa sociale Galdus (Milan) invloved in the previous partnership, and two new partners : Préface (Marseille) and aufBruch KUNST GEFÄNGNIS STADT (Berlin).
This project aims at thinking about how to create bridges between non-formal artistic education, vocational training, employement of prisoners, and how to foster implementation and scalability of such projects through territorial policies.
Objectives for 2014-2015 :
1/ To analyze and compare for each country territorial policies range of action in the fields of creation, training and employment, and insertion policies.
2/ To identify different « inside /outside » dynamic developed by each partner and analyze the impact of each approach on inmates.
3/ To develop exchange of pluridisciplinary practices gathering all the organisations/institutions involved in the “inside-outside” process of the prisoner : cultural operators, prisoners, vocational training organisations and universities, penitentiary administration, culture and insertion/social affairs of Regional governments/institutions.
4/ To define proposals that allow to build stronger links between culture / training / employment at regional level.

Meeting in Berlin, June 19-21 2014
Work session between partners, meeting with the representatives from the prison administrations of Berlin Land (Senate for Justice) and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region (DIRSP Paca-Corse, SPIP des Bouches-du-Rhônes, Arles’ prison, and Regional Council of PACA) visit of Tegel and Heidering prisons, and meeting with prisoners taking part to AufBruch theatre project in Berlin Tegel prison, during the public performance of their last play, "Die Maschinenstürmer", performed inside the Tegel prison.
First meeting in Barcelona, Januray 18-20 2014
Work session between partners, meeting with prisoners taking part to the Teatrodentro artistic workshop conducted by TransFORMAS at the Cuatro Camins prison, and meeting with the representatives from Justice Department of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and the CIRE, organization in charge of vocational training and employement issue for prisoners in Catalonia’s prisons.
This first meeting permitted to share with Catalonian institutions the aim of European partners to build bridges between collaborative artistic projects and vocational training, in order to create job opportunities for prisonners in the cultural field. A connexion between the CIRE and TransFORMAS took shape.
Meeting with European partners on March 25th, 26th and 27th 2015 in Marseille
Firstly, the meetings with the project partners took place at the Regional Council for a presentation of the different partners (cultural and institutional operators) with a presentation of political experiences in each region (Berlin, Catalonia, PACA), and exchanges on the program and the evaluation methods (working groups on the Mind Map) and the link between culture implemented / training / employment. Then, a second meeting took place in the prison of Arles (visit and meeting with inmates, Bac Pro Photo’s trainees from Preface) and presentation of evaluation methods by Spanish partners. Then, on the last day, a visit was organized at the Baumettes Penitrentiary and a meeting with students of the Training Workshops and Audiovisual Creation led by Lieux Fictifs.
Closing event from June 3rd to 5th 2015 in Barcelona
It’s in Barcelona that took place the closing event of the European project Grundtvig "Culture, education, employment for persons placed under court" conducted since 2013.
The first day, the last institutional meeting took place in the Generalitat of Catalonia to exchange on the status of the relationship between culture, prison and employment in each country and identify opportunities to develop integration models in the labor market that relies on artistic creation in prison.
The meeting ended with the presentation of the tool "Mind Map" used by each partner in order to measure the impact of artistic creation action conducted in prisons and exchange of findings and perspectives of the project.
